A Day Out With Thomas

This past weekend was a fun one for us for 2 reasons. One; it was a holiday weekend, therefore we had Justin home for a 4 day weekend and two; yesterday was Broc's birthday so we got to go play and celebrate. For the past 2 months, if you were to ask Broc when his birthday was, he would reply with "I get to go ride Thomas." He knew that was what he got to do and that is what we did. My mom and dad bought everyone tickets to go up to Heber and ride Thomas the Train. Broc was in heaven and loved every minute of it. It's a cute little set up. We thought all you did was ride Thomas and go home but that wasn't the case. They had a mini golf course set up, a maze made out of hay bales, and a tent that had 3 train tables and a couple of coloring tables, and tattoos. You could also meet Sir Toppem Hat and get your picture taken with him. (Of course my child did NOT want to do that). They also had a thing set up where you could ride in a helicopter. As cool as it would be to fly in a helicopter for 10 minutes, it was not worth the $35.00 a person. After Thomas we went and ate at Pizza Hut and then went and got a shake. It was such a fun day and I am glad we were able to go. Happy Birthday to my little boy! Broc we love you and we are so happy that you are in our family. You are such a fun and adventurous little boy and the best big brother to Sophia. We are so glad we got to spend the day doing what you want to do!!

Fathers and Sons

Friday night was our ward's Fathers and Sons campout, so Justin took Broc to go camping. Broc was so excited and frankly so was I. I didn't marry a camper so the fact that my husband wanted to go was awesome. Justin said that while there, Broc kept watching for the bears and didn't want them to come and get him, yet he kept calling for the bears to come. He cracks me up with the things he comes up with. I love that kid. Well, camping ended at 9. Broc wanted to go to bed and go see his mom, so they came home. I don't think it helped that Broc fell and ate dirt. I love that my boys got to go out and spend some time together. I just love them!!

Everyone Do the Dinosaur Part 1

Broc and Avery playing with his new dinosaur Rexy

Broc's birthday is tomorrow and as everyone knows, he will always have a birthday weekend filled with at least 2 parties due to the fact that my family all lives in Ogden. Yesterday was Broc's dinosaur party up north. It was a lot of fun filled with yummy food, a game (it was meant to be for the little kids, but we were missing some family so the big kids played) and as always a pinata. I love birthdays and I love celebrating so I always try to go BIG! My grandparents were in town for the week for my cousin Tyler's graduation so we got to spend time with them also. This week was the first time that they have met the 3 newest great-grandkids with Sophia being the youngest. I hope everyone had fun and thanks for all of your love and support!!
(Note: Pictures are in no particular order and please note my mad baking skills. I am slowly improving. My Grandma Lois would be proud.)

Our Random Wednesdays

Having time off of work has be fabulous!! I forgot how nice it is to be home. (Granted I am missing the schedule and a routine, weird I know). Anyway, last week my mom came down to play with us so we decided to go to Chuck E Cheese. Broc LOVES that place. It is another of the places he would live if we gave him the opportunity. It was a fun afternoon out and a nice change to our do nothingness. Thanks mom for coming down and giving us some company. We love you!!

Mother's Day

Every day we are surrounded by mothers. They are not always easily recognizable. That is because what makes a mother is the millions of moments that you don’t see. It begins the moment you find someone you put before yourself. Moments of sacrifice cradling a sick child or holding a dying hand. The moment you wake up and forget to eat breakfast but remember the homework, lunch boxes, permission slips and clean underwear. Mothers are made in the moments when you don’t sleep. You don’t sleep because he isn’t home and the night seems too dark without him. You don’t sleep because the baby needs you. You don’t sleep because her bed is empty and it is past curfew without a phone call and you were her age once too. Mothers are made in moments filled with kisses of all shapes and sliminess levels and moments filled with hugs to heal the hurts of the world. You can’t identify a mother by the kids in the shopping cart because the truth is they were a mother before the babies came and will be one long after they are gone on to be parents to babies of their own. Mothers are millions of moments. And someday when those millions of moments have filled all they can of a mother and the last of them have past all that will be left is love, love that will be carried on in the hearts all that you have touched and shared in millions of moments of their own. Everyday, we are surround by women filled with moments that are bits of what it is to be a mother. To each of them I wish a happy Mothers Day.

Broc and His "Girlfriend"

I can't believe Broc will be 3 at the end of the month. Where has the time gone? He is turning into such a cute little boy with such spunk and attitude, but I love every minute of it. He loves to be right in the action, no matter what it might be. His wheels always seem to be turning. Broc also loves to play with his friends and unfortunately for him, all he really has is girls for friends. In the long run it will be a good thing. He will be in touch with the feminine side of things. His best friend is Larissa. She is my bestys little girl. He absolutely adores her. We love to have sleepovers with her. The last time she slept over, we went to Discovery Park and played. They had so much fun until he went down the slide and literally ate dirt. Even then he didn't want to go home. He gets so sad when it's time for her to go home. Thanks Riss for coming and playing with us!!

2 Week Checkup

Sophia had her 2 week checkup today. She was a champ. She has gone back up in weight, which is a good thing, but is still in the lower percentiles of everything. Had she had 3 more weeks to grow, she may have been in the percentiles Broc is always in. Granted that child is HUGE!! And by huge I mean tall. He looks older than he is. Always has, and always will. Sophia is doing great though. She lost her umbilical cord on Saturday. She is eating so well both from breast feeding and bottles. Broc just adores his sister, which helps. We love having her here. It just seems weird to me that I should still be pregnant. She is our little miracle baby and we are just grateful she is here healthy and happy. We love our little Princess.
Here are her stats:
Weight: 6 lbs. <5th percentile
Height: 19 in. 12th percentile
Head: 34 1/4 cm 23rd percentile
