Weekend Woes

This past weekend was my first weekend off since before Easter and it was much needed. I had gotten in a fight with Justin last Monday for being in work mode so much lately so yesterday was supposed to be a family togetherness day once he got off of work from the golf course. Well instead of that he went to his dad's to do yet another project. I was sad, mad, irritated so he told me we could go out to dinner once he got home. I got bribed but hey it works for me. We went to Ruby River since we had a gift card. The wait wasn't too bad for a Saturday night and with an almost 2 year old, the shorter the better. Broc wanted to wander and see everything, so he did. Well we got seated and trapped him in and then ordered fast so that we could get Broc his food fast. We order and wait maybe 25 minutes and they bring out the food. Guess who's order they messed up on. Broc's. It took 20 minutes to get his right order out. By then he was bored and wanted to go. He ate a handful of his fries and was done. Dinner was a nice thought so thanks babe. Maybe next time we will have a better experience. Not quite how I had planned my Saturday night, but hey I got to spend it with my 2 favorite boys. Love you guys!!

Good Times

We have had a busy couple of weeks. Things are supposed to slow down after Easter. That unfortunately is not how our world works. Here are some things we have been up to. Being crazy with our "hat"

Easter Weekend

This has been a good, busy weekend. Colton came down and spent the night which is always fun and a nice break. yes those are little girl panties. don't ask

Work will slow down and I am no longer a slave to Payless, and I got a reminder of what this holiday is really all about. We started our Easter Sunday at church which was hectic in Primary. (All of the kids had had too much sugar in their system by 10:00am and did not want to sit still. AT ALL.) They wanted to talk about what the Easter Bunny had brought them. Well for sharing time we watched a piece of the movie about Jesus being crucified. It made me want to cry. One of the Sunbeams in front of our class was talking to her friend and explaining what was happening. It was the cutest thing and so great that she knew so much about what Christ did for us at only three years old. I think people forget the true meaning of Easter and what it stands for and it becomes a holiday like Christmas where it is all about the gifts. It is so much more than that. It is about Jesus and the sacrifice he made for us.

"
One of the great consolations of this Easter season is that because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we do not have to do so. " -Elder Holland

I am glad I got to start the day with that reminder and the spirit.
We then ventured down to Spanish Fork for dinner and an Easter egg hunt at Grandpa David's house. Broc was so funny. He wanted nothing to do with the eggs or the hunt. He would pick one up, open it and get the candy then throw the egg down. He didn't want to fill his basket. (I got to go on the Easter egg hunt in all reality) He just followed all of his cousins around and did his own thing. one of the two times he put anything in the basket

He got more excited when it was over and we had all the plastic eggs in a giant bag. He went up to it and pointed and said "ohhh!" Broc is so on his own page at times. (the greatest thing EVER)

He will do what he wants to do when he wants to do it. Hunting for eggs apparently was not on his list today. My family came down from Ogden to spend some time with us as well. Thanks
mom and dad for coming all the way down. We love you guys!! All in all it was a good day.

Broc's New Pets (sort 0f)

The last couple of months Justin has talked about wanting to get chickens. I shrug it off as whatever and move on. Well today while at work Justin researched and went and bought chickens. He is so funny sometimes. A lot of people in our ward have them and now we have jumped on the bandwagon. Right now we just have 6 but apparently we are getting more. I wanted to name them but one day they will be our food, so no names. They are cute so I guess we will see how this goes. As long as Broc doesn't accidentally squeeze one to death, we will have good times with this one.

Day at the Zoo

This week is a hectic week for me at work so today was a nice change. I was up off and on the night before with Broc and due to my mom being my mom so I was tired and wanted to bail but didn't. We went to the zoo with my friend Steph and her little girl Larissa (Broc's future wife/best friend...he calls her Roo Roo) Larissa

and my friend Jen and sister Holli. Steph also brought some neighbor girls. They were so cute. Hallie and Mia. Adorable little girls. Broc had options with the ladies :) Oh and Steph's friend Jenaine and her little girl Rilee. It was so much fun and Broc had a blast. This was his first adventure to the zoo. Last summer was a wash and we didn't do anything exciting since he wouldn't remember it anyway. Bad parenting? Maybe. I will deal with it. He thought that the elephants were fun, but in the beginning kept saying "No mom" cause they scared him. (My kid doesn't get out much.) And he LOVED the monkeys. We could not get him out of the monkey area. They now have this little cave area where you can go in and be pretty much face to face with a rhino. He thought that was pretty awesome and kept saying "oh wow mom". And did you know that the zoo now has a carauosel? He liked that after a second. I just had to be on it with him.
We also rode the train. He LOVED that. The entire time he was saying "Choo choo". They have changed so much at the zoo since the last timeI went there. All in all it was a good day. Thank goodness for awesome weather. Not all parts of the zoo were open yet, so we will be going again. Next time we go, Justin will hopefully be with us. He didn't want to take a half day off of work.
Thanks Steph for potty training Larissa and letting her choose the day. Thanks for inviting us to tag along. It was good times!!
