4 Months Old

I can't believe how fast 4 months has flown by. Sophia is growing like a weed and learning new things everyday. Things Sophia is doing now:
*rolling IF and WHEN she wants to
*scooting around her play mat (she can move and fast)
*she can sit up for a few seconds (it is a work in progress)
*she will laugh at the most random things
*she wakes up happy every morning
*she LOVES her big brother. there are times when he is the only thing that will make her happy
*she is eating solid foods now. she loves sweet potatoes and pears the best.
*she can almost hold her own bottle
Her 4 month stats:
WEIGHT: 15 lbs.  75th percentile Hard to believe she was only 5 lbs 15 oz. when she was born.
HEIGHT:  21 in.  25th percentile
HEAD: I can't remember but she was in the 25th percentile

We love our little Chunky Monkey and are so glad she is a part of our family forever.

Sophia's Blessing Day

We finally blessed Sophia :) It was such a great day with family and friends and Justin gave such a great blessing. I am so grateful to have found him and to be able to spend eternity with "my babe" My mom bought Sophia her dress, which wasn't your typical blessing dress (anyone that knows my husband, knows he likes it that way). We got something with purple in remembrance to Justin's grandma Betty. When she was dying she made a comment on seeing a baby in purple. That was how we knew we were having a girl (we didn't find out until a couple of weeks later that we REALLY were having a girl). Thanks to all of our family and friends that came and showed their support and to those that were there in spirit. We love you guys!!!

One Flaw in Women

Sunday in Relief Society, we learned about being self efficient and just doing it. We as women do what it takes to provide for our families. However, we also need to remember to take care of ourselves. Anyway, Sister Shirley gave us a poem that is so incredibly true. Enjoy! :)
Women have strengths that amaze men.....
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up to injustice. They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or email you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideas. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR SELF WORTH.

Fun at the Farm

This past Wednesday, my cousin Ambure invited us to go with her and her summer camp kids to Thanksgiving Point. We got to spend the morning at the farm. Broc loved it and would have spent all day there given the opportunity. His favorite part was the wagon ride. I think I take for granted everything we have to do down here. I never take Broc there and I live like 10 minutes away. Thanks Ambure for letting us come and play with you guys!!
"Please let me out!!"

Pleasant View Founder's Day

Yesterday I got to attend my first PV Founder's Day in 7ish years. Between working at Payless and the past couple of years the Strawberry Days rodeo and parade has coincided with everything up north. It was so much fun. Before the parade we had a breakfast with our family and neighbors. During the parade, Broc was getting upset because my cousin Kyle and his friend kept getting the candy. He ended up in the house for a few minutes pouting. He came out and my dad and I ended up collecting his candy. He has more candy than he knows what to do with from his birthday parties and Larissa's party. After the parade Justin, my sister and I went and ran errands before we went to the salmon bake. Yum, yum!! We then headed to the fireworks and they did not disappoint. My dad's friend Paul has done the fireworks for the past 25 years and they are AMAZING!! He syncs them with music and it is just awesome. This was his last year of doing it. Whomever takes over has some LARGE shoes to fill. Broc loved them, although halfway home he climbed off my lap and told me he was going home. Haha. Sophia slept through the entire thing. All in all it was an awesome day!! It was one of my last hurrah's before I go back to work next week. I love summertime!!!

Backstreets Back

Wednesday night I got to pretend I was in junior high for the night and go to the Backstreet Boys Concert. Back in the day, I went to every one of their concerts (along with NSYNC, I was a teenybopper it's true. Don't judge). It was a good concert. During it, they made a comment that half the fans there weren't even born 17 years ago when they first came out. It's true. Some of the 17 year olds there dressed like they were in the 80's. Umm hello, BSB were around in the late 90's. Let's learn some things. :) It was so much fun though to pretend to be younger again. Back when life was simple and the only things I cared about were school and friends. Sigh. Thanks mom for the awesome night out!!! Loved it!!!

I am soo excited :)

Check-ups

Last Monday, Broc and Sophia had a wellness doctor's appointment. Sophia's turned into a medicine needing appointment for her era infection. Blah. Other than that though, she is doing great. Gaining weight and getting so big (to me anyway. She still looks tiny compared to Broc at that age) and fun. She has started smiling and laughing. She loves to suck on her fingers. When she doesn't want her binkie, she pulls a little stink face. She loves to play with her tongue and smack it with her lips. She is slowly sleeping more during the night. Most nights now she doesn't wake up until 4 or 5. It's so much better than waking up at 3 and again at 6. She is so observant of things. She just studies her surroundings. We love her!!
Her stats at 2 months:
Height- 22 1/4 in. 48%
Weight- 10.5 lbs. 49%
Head- 38cm 27%
Broc is growing as well. He ask questions about EVERYTHING lately. He has such a curious mind. He is working on his colors. He can count to 15ish. We are also working on the alphabet. He is such an observant little boy. He notices the most random things, like when my sister got a new door, he asked her about it before I even realized they had gotten a new door. He loves all of his "kids" (friends) and gets along with most everyone. Sometimes he gets shy around girls and bats his little eyes. I think he is going to be a flirt when he gets older. He loves to be with us and help whenever he feels so inclined. He loves to watch his shows: Phineas and Ferb, Kick Buttowski, I'm in the Band, Wizards of Waverly Place, Imagination Movers, Little Einsteins (we watch a lot of Disney channel at our house). Broc is all boy for the most part but is really sensitive when he gets in trouble. He hates to disappoint anyone. He reminds me of my brother Colton. He was and is the same way. Best of all, he is a good big brother and a protector of Sophia. His stats are:
Height- 30 in. 88%
Weight-36 lbs. 90%
